An air tight pipe bag is crucial to having a steady and harmonious bagpipe. A bag that leaks makes playing the bagpipes almost impossible. Bill will ensure the bag he ties on is completely airtight. It will inspire you to play at a much more enjoyable and accomplished level. If you are a shorter player you may want stocks tied a little closer to front of bag to ensure your bag is ergonomically comfortable for you. This can be detailed in the special instruction section.
Please Note: Stocks that have a thick sludge attached may incur an extra charge. Cleaning stocks with excessive build up of seasoning and sludge can take Bill up to an extra hour to apply the bag. This will usually incur an extra charge of $50.00. It is imperative for balanced and steady tone to ensure stocks are clean when applying the bag.

The holes are countersunk and comes complete with a reed.

This chanter features smaller finger holes in comparison to the multi-prize winning Peter Henderson Blackwood Pipe Chanter and plays at a slightly higher pitch.
It has been extensively tested in a synthetic and leather pipe bag set-up with a range of reeds and produces a rich, resonant bright sound with a solid Hi G for light music and piobaireachd playing.

The ridge cut pipe reed is chisel cut, with a rolled copper staple and is hand made in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

The McCallum long poly practice chanter is 22″ from top of mouthpiece to bottom. Spacing between the holes is similar to a regular pipe chanter so you can easily switch between your practice chanter and bagpipes.

The Kintyre practice chanter boasts a beautiful clear tone and the sound lasts much longer as a result of the innovative watertrap incorporated in the top piece. If emptied on a regualr basis, it will give hours of uninterrupted practice.
Willie Mccallum describes it as “the only long practice chanter I have played that feels like a pipe chanter”, thereby making the transition much easier. It’s unique hole design is a huge step forward in improving finger work.
