Our kilts are woven and made in Scotland. What are the benefits of buying your kilt from us locally here in Calgary, as opposed to purchasing online from the UK? Let me begin by recounting TWO gents I dealt with this week. “Mac” (not his real name) was in a panic looking to rent a Mackenize kilt for his upcoming wedding in a few days. He had ordered on line directly from a UK supplier. He also measured himself. The kilt did NOT show up and will not be here for his wedding. I could not help him with such short notice. I asked though why he didn’t shop locally to get his kilt?? He had no answer other than “he wish he did” and “regrets choosing his purchase option”. We have been in business 40 years for a reason – we deliver our kilts and highland dress on time. It is our job to be informed of your deadline date. We also don’t take orders KNOWING we can’t fulfill the delivery date. We have access to tartan inventory at the mills in Scotland. It should be known that if the tartan is woven – EXPECT a much lenghtier delivery time for your kilt. Our kilts usually land here in 6 to 8 weeks when the tartan is in stock. If the tartan is not in stock, realistically expect 16 to 20 weeks.
My second interaction is just as important. We had a lovely customer order his complete outfit for his daughter’s wedding – it arrived in plenty of time with 4 weeks to spare! His comment to me after picking up his outfit was “I am so glad I ordered from the Highland Shoppe, because I would not have know what to do or how to wear my kilt if it had just shown up in a box”. He was so thankful to be properly fitted, sized and try his complete outfit on when it arrived. He had some brief instruction how to wear his kilt. This customer will attend his daughter’s wedding wearing his new kilt confidently and properly sized.
